I thought I could resolve the cmicnfg.cpl file by installing a new Sound Blaster Card and Audigy software. Computer Hopes ch000208 doesn't address editing the registry to remove the files creating the problem. Unfortunately MS hasn't stepped up to the plate to acknowledge the corrupted file and offer a fix.
